Information When You Need It

On March 23, 2010, the Affordable Care Act was signed into law by President Obama.

There are many uncertainties about how the law will affect EHIM clients and plan design, and there are many questions that will only be answered as provisions are implemented over the next five years.

EHIM has compiled links to a number of resources to assist you in gathering information about Healthcare Reform. EHIM recommends all employers and plan sponsors to consult their legal counsels to assess the impact that Healthcare Reform may have on their benefit offerings.

Health Reform in Action. Part of the official White House web site, this link provides an overview of the act, plus a high-level summary of provisions.

The Affordable Care Act. This is the U.S. Dept. Of Labor web site that discusses labor-related issues that individuals and employers should be aware of pertaining to the Affordable Care Act.

Healthcare.gov. This web page from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services provides answers to common questions related to the Affordable Care Act.

The Affordable Care Act Implementation Timeline. This site provides a detailed look at provisions of the act, and the timeline for their implementation.
