EHIM COO Jeffrey R. Lewis Keynote Speaker at ADAP Solutions Summit
April 2, 2012 – SOUTHFIELD, Michigan – EHIM is proud to announce that Chief Operating Officer Jeffrey R. Lewis is the keynote speaker for ADAP Solutions Summit in Washington, DC today. The Summit is being held through tomorrow, April 2, 2012.
The Summit is sponsored by the ADAP Advisory Association, whose mission is to promote and enhance the AIDS Drug Assistance Programs (ADAPs) and improve access to care for persons living with HIV/AIDS. Most major drug manufacturers sponsor initiatives called patient assistance programs, which allows patients meeting certain income levels and other qualifications to receive free or low-cost prescription medication; ADAPs are a sub-set of these types of program.
Mr. Lewis said during his keynote speech, “Today is not about Republicans or Democrats. HIV is non-partisan. Today is about each of us – setting aside our agendas, and collaborating on a common, successful pathway, to address the HIV crisis in America.”
The full text of Mr. Lewis’s speech also is available.
ADAPs are used by the chronically uninsured or underinsured AIDS/HIV patients, and are a critical resource in accessing needed medications that can improve quality of life, Mr. Lewis said.
The conference is expected to draw hundreds of participants and dozens of distinguished speakers from groups and organizations such as the White House Office of National AIDS Strategy, The AIDS Institute, as well as many state organizations and pharmaceutical companies.
More information is available at the conference website.
